"PAN-OFF" RESTORATION
I used a hydraulic jack, (3) 8 foot fence posts and 4 saw horses. I lifted the body about 1 foot
off the pan using the jack, then propping up with jack stands. Front end first, then the rear.
Then I placed the saw horses by each wheel well. I used the tires as the fulcrum points to lift
each wheel well up, slipping the post thru until it ran in one side and out the other. Only my
father and I did this. Not too shabby for the first time.
PAN - BEFORE
You can see the difference here between
original condition and after applying rust
converter
PAN - AFTER
In order to roll the pan out from under the body; the shock towers were
too high. I had to remove the front axle beam. (It also was rebuilt).
Using a piece of 2 X 10, I bolted a dolly wheel to the framehead.
