RESUSCITATION
Engine rebuild complete! Used spare
tranny with starter mounted to bench test
(floor actually). I used this set up to run
the engine for 15-30 minutes every month
or two.
New muffler and J-pipes
Cleaned and painted manifold
Painted all pulleys, fan housing,
fan blade, all cooling tin.
Rebuilt carb
New coil,wires,etc.
Generator 'cleaned' and
replaced brushes

Brushed and painted block with
manifold paint.
Replaced oil cooler, SP heads
and pistons and cylinders (old
ones in shown photo)
Oil seal replaced.
Replaced pushrods and tubes.
When I bought the KG no engine was in it. The seller gave me an
old 1500 SP engine he had laying around. I eventually found out
that the pistons were seized (rusted) and the heads were beyond
repair. I'd rebuilt the engine anyway. Below are a few pictures
of what the engine looked like after the rebuild along with lists
of what I replaced, repainted, refurbished, etc.
