Engine rebuild complete! Used spare
tranny with starter mounted to bench test (floor actually). I used this set up to run the engine for 15-30 minutes every month or two. |

New muffler and J-pipes
Cleaned and painted manifold
Painted all pulleys, fan housing,
fan blade, all cooling tin.
Rebuilt carb
New coil,wires,etc.
Generator 'cleaned' and
replaced brushes |

Brushed and painted block with
manifold paint.
Replaced oil cooler, SP heads
and pistons and cylinders (old ones in shown photo)
Oil seal replaced.
Replaced pushrods and tubes.

When I bought the KG no engine was in it. The seller gave me an
old 1500 SP engine he had laying around. I eventually found out that the pistons were seized (rusted) and the heads were beyond repair. I'd rebuilt the engine anyway. Below are a few pictures of what the engine looked like after the rebuild along with lists of what I replaced, repainted, refurbished, etc. |
